Sanrio World Smash Ball! is a Super Famicom-exclusive action sports game developed by Tomcat System and published by Character Soft in Japan on July 16, 1993. Blending elements of table tennis and air hockey, it tasks players with controlling characters to hit a flying disc into the opponent’s scoring zone.
It features 4 playable Sanrio characters: the well-balanced frog Keroppi, the fast but weak-hitting human boy Tabo, the defense-focused tanuki Pokopon, and the hard-hitting fish-like Hangyodon. Hello Kitty serves as the in-game referee.
The single-player mode has 30 varied levels with rising difficulty, plus obstacles like breakable wood blocks, impassable zones and walls that require strategic play. Multiplayer offers 20 arenas for fun matches with friends.
Controls are simple and intuitive, but advancing levels demand faster reflexes and sharper strategy to overcome challenges.
