Chip's Challenge is a legendary puzzle game originally developed for the Atari Lynx and later ported to the NES. In this prototype version (v0.924B), players control high schooler Chip McCallahan as he attempts to join the 'Bit Busters' club led by Melinda the Mental Marvel. To prove his worth, Chip must navigate 148 complex levels filled with traps, locked doors, moving monsters, and environmental hazards like ice and fire. The core gameplay focuses on collecting computer chips to unlock the exit of each level. Combining fast-reflex action stages with deep logic puzzles, Chip's Challenge is a test of both mind and coordination. This NES prototype version offers a unique look at how the PC/Lynx classic was adapted for Nintendo's 8-bit hardware.
