Jongbou is a unique 1987 game developed and published by SNK, blending breakout and mahjong elements. Players control a paddle to bounce a ball and break on-screen bricks; broken bricks drop mahjong tiles that players collect to form valid mahjong hands. There are two ways to clear each level: destroy all bricks or complete a valid mahjong hand. The original arcade version rewarded players with an anime-style female character image at the end of each level, though these reward images were removed from the Nintendo Famicom version. The game launched on the Nintendo Famicom in Japan on July 18, 1987.
