Street Racer is a kart racing game developed by Vivid Image and published by Ubisoft, first released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in 1994. Known for its unique blend of racing and fighting elements, it’s often called a mix of Mario Kart and Street Fighter.
Players can choose from 8 distinct characters, each with unique vehicles and special weapons like magic carpets and tri-wing planes. During races, you not only speed on tracks but also use special attacks to disrupt opponents, boosting fun and challenge.
The game offers multiple modes: single-player, multiplayer, soccer mode, and "brawl" mode. Soccer mode has you drive to push a ball into the opponent’s goal, while brawl mode lets you knock rivals out of an arena. It supports up to 4-player split-screen, enhancing interactivity and entertainment.
Street Racer launched on many platforms, including Sega Mega Drive, PlayStation, Sega Saturn, Game Boy, Amiga, and PC. Its varied gameplay and rich content made it stand out among racing games of its era, beloved by players.
