Shaq-Fu is a fighting game developed by Delphine Software International and published by Electronic Arts. It launched for the Super Nintendo (SNES) in North America on October 28, 1994, starring NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal as a martial arts hero on a cross-dimensional adventure.
Traveling to Tokyo for a charity basketball game, O'Neal stumbles into a dojo and is teleported to the alternate "Second World". There, he must battle the evil mummy Sett-Ra to rescue the kidnapped boy Nezu. The game features single-player and multiplayer modes, with multiple playable characters to choose from.
Shaq-Fu received mixed reviews upon release. While GamePro praised the SNES version for its smooth controls and fast pace, many players and critics panned it for clunky gameplay, poor music, subpar graphics, and a confusing plot.
Though the original Shaq-Fu is widely regarded as one of the worst games ever made, its sequel Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn launched on June 5, 2018, aiming to improve and reimagine the franchise.
