Zombies Ate My Neighbors is an action shooter developed by LucasArts and published by Konami in 1993, initially released for the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis. It humorously pays tribute to classic horror films. Players take on the role of teen protagonists Zeke or Julie to save neighbors in a monster-invaded community.
The game features 55 levels with diverse settings, from suburban backyards and shopping malls to mysterious islands. Players face classic horror movie monsters like zombies, mummies, vampires, giant babies, and chainsaw maniacs. The goal of each level is to find and rescue all neighbors before moving on to the next.
Players can use a variety of unique weapons to fight monsters, including water guns, exploding soda, rocket launchers, and lawn mowers. The game supports single-player or two-player co-op mode, offering a rich gameplay experience.
Although it was not a huge commercial success, the game has won the love of players with its unique graphic style, sense of humor, and deep gameplay, becoming a classic retro game.
