Super James Pond 2, also known as James Pond 2: Codename: RoboCod, is a side-scrolling platform game developed by British studio Vectordean and released in 1991. It first launched on Amiga, Atari ST, and Sega Mega Drive, later ported to SNES and other platforms.
Players control secret agent James Pond, who must infiltrate Santa's toy factory taken over by the evil Dr. Maybe, rescue kidnapped workers (penguins in most versions), and recover stolen gifts. To take on bigger challenges, Pond wears a special robotic battle suit codenamed "RoboCod", granting him super strength, agility, and stretchable limbs to reach normally inaccessible areas.
The game features 50 levels where players jump and dodge enemies to complete missions. Pond can use his stretching ability to grab ceilings or platforms, avoid foes, or reach high places. Various power-ups and vehicles like cars, planes, and flying bathtubs add diversity and fun.
Notably, the title music composed by Richard Joseph is an adaptation of the *RoboCop* film theme, featuring prominent marimba sounds.
With its unique gameplay mechanics and humorous tone, Super James Pond 2 became one of the beloved classic platform games of its era.
