MVP Baseball is a baseball simulation game developed by Sculptured Software and published by Acclaim Entertainment. It launched for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in North America in 1992, followed by a 1993 Japanese release.
Players can compete with 26 selectable teams. Lacking official MLB licensing, all player names and team names are fictional except cover athlete Roger Clemens.
It features an exhibition mode and a 162-game regular season mode, with a password system to save season progress for later play.
The Japanese version, titled MVP Baseball, released exclusively for Nintendo’s Game Boy and Super Famicom.
Its soundtrack was composed by Kingsley Thurber, who also scored the Super NES version of *Mortal Kombat* and other titles.
Overall, MVP Baseball delivers a rich baseball gaming experience. While fictional player and team names stem from licensing limits, its gameplay and varied modes secured it a spot among top baseball games of its era.
