Legend of Minerva: The Revival of Lagon is a 1987 RPG developed by Random House and published by Taito for the Nintendo Famicom. Set in the fantasy world of Minerva, you play as the prince of Palmecia, seeking revenge for his parents killed by the evil Lagon. The game uses a top-down perspective, letting you explore a vast world map, visit towns and dungeons. Its real-time action combat system, where you attack by colliding with enemies, is similar to the Ys series. During your adventure, you can recruit up to two party members to boost combat power. It features a rich item and equipment system that requires smart management to overcome challenges. As the first entry in the Minerva series, it laid the groundwork for the later Sylvan Legend series. Though originally released only in Japan, a fan-made unofficial English translation came out in 2011, letting more players experience this classic.
