K.H. Rummenigge's Player Manager is a football management simulation game developed by UK-based Anco Software and published by Imagineer, released in 1993 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). Named after legendary German footballer Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, who played for Bayern Munich and represented West Germany in two World Cups, the game lets players take on the role of a player-coach aiming to lead their team to league titles through both management and on-pitch involvement. It features three management skill levels, a three-tier league system, and two cup competitions, with options to play matches yourself, watch them, or let the CPU simulate results.
Management features include training, scouting, and newspaper reports, with on-field positions linked to unique colors. Players can design tactics, sign players, and build their dream squad. The game is based on Dino Dini's *Player Manager* for Amiga and Atari ST, though it was made without the original creator's authorization.
During matches, players can directly control the team only while their in-game character is aged 28 to 35; after turning 35, the character retires automatically, and direct match control is no longer available. It also includes an active transfer market, strict financial controls, team doctors, coaches, and scouts to capture the tense atmosphere of real football management.
Supporting both single-player and multiplayer modes for up to two players, the game is in German and is ideal for fans of football management and simulation games.
