FireStriker is a top-down action game developed by Axes Art Amuse and published by Hect. It launched in Japan on December 17, 1993, and in North America in October 1994 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). Set in a world of four elemental kingdoms competing for the Trialight forged by archmage Wylde, the wind kingdom wins and unites the realms. Dissatisfied, Wylde sends four monsters to overthrow the unified world. Players take on the role of Slader, the last fire warrior, to help the wind kingdom free other realms and defeat monsters. Gameplay blends action and pinball elements. Players control Slader to move freely across the screen, keep the Trialight from falling off, guide it to the exit, and defeat enemies. Game over occurs if Slader is beaten by monsters or the Trialight fails to reach the exit. FireStriker supports single-player and up to four-player multiplayer. In multiplayer battles, it plays like a soccer match, where players pass and shoot the Trialight to defeat opponents. The game received positive reviews post-release. GamePro called it a Breakout-style game with fresh gameplay, noting its action elements, power-ups, and boss fights add depth and replay value.
