BreakThru! is a puzzle game developed by Zoo Corporation and published by Spectrum HoloByte in 1994. It first launched on Windows and MS-DOS, then was ported to platforms including the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), Game Boy, Sega Saturn, and PlayStation. In the game, players move a cursor on a grid of colored blocks to clear adjacent matching blocks. When blocks are removed, blocks above fall to fill the gaps; the goal is to clear all blocks within the time limit. If remaining blocks can’t form matches, players can use special items: plane blocks clear an entire row, dynamite blocks blow up surrounding blocks, or they can add new random blocks. Though Tetris creator Alexey Pajitnov’s name and likeness appear on the cover and title screen, he only received a "special thanks" and was not directly involved in design. Different platform versions were developed and published by different companies. For example, the SNES version was developed by Artech, and the Game Boy version by Realtime Associates Seattle Division — both published by Spectrum HoloByte in North America.
