Ardy Lightfoot is a 2D side-scrolling platformer developed by ASCII, released in 1993 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in Japan, followed by North American and European launches in 1994. Players join anthropomorphic fox Ardy and his blue companion Pec on a quest to find seven crystal shards of the broken sacred rainbow—legend grants one wish to whoever collects all crystals. Evil King Visconti, who already holds one shard, sends minions like Beecroft and Catry to hunt the rest. Ardy gets help from friends including an elder, Nina, and mysterious adventurer Don Jacoby across 17 levels set in forests, caves, cities, and more. Jump, use Pec as a weapon, and grab power-ups to defeat enemies and bosses, solve puzzles, or play co-op with a second player controlling Pec. Beloved for its rich gameplay and cartoon-style visuals.
