Zombies Ate My Neighbors is a 1993 action-adventure game developed by LucasArts and published by Konami, originally released for the SNES and Sega Genesis. It humorously pays tribute to classic horror films. Players take on the role of teen protagonists Zeke or Julie, and save neighbors threatened by various monsters across over 50 levels.
In the game, players face enemies like zombies, mummies, vampires and giant babies, and fight with diverse weapons such as squirt guns, rocket launchers and lawnmowers. The goal of each level is to find and rescue all neighbors while keeping them safe from monster attacks. Once all neighbors are saved, players can advance to the next level.
The game features rich and varied scenes, including suburban backyards, shopping malls and Egyptian tombs, full of humorous references to horror movies. It supports single-player or two-player co-op mode, allowing players to enjoy the fun of saving neighbors with friends.
Although Zombies Ate My Neighbors did not achieve huge commercial success, it has won the love of players with its unique game style, sense of humor and deep gameplay, becoming a classic retro game.
