The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is an action-adventure game developed by Nintendo EAD and released for the Nintendo 64 in 2000. It is the sixth entry in The Legend of Zelda series and the second 3D title following Ocarina of Time. Set in Termina, a parallel world to Hyrule, the story follows Link, who is searching for the fairy Navi. He has his Ocarina of Time and horse Epona stolen by the Skull Kid, and is turned into a Deku Scrub. To return to his original form and stop the Skull Kid from unleashing catastrophe using Majora's Mask, Link must solve puzzles, collect masks, summon the Four Giants, and ultimately prevent the moon from falling to save Termina within a repeating three-day cycle. The game introduces a time loop mechanic: players have 72 in-game hours (roughly 54 real-world minutes) to complete tasks. Link can play the "Song of Time" to return to the first day's dawn and reset the timeline, though solved puzzles and collected keys are reset, adding to the challenge. There are 24 masks in total. Some allow Link to transform into different races—Deku Scrub, Goron, and Zora—each with unique abilities to help solve puzzles and defeat enemies. Praised worldwide for its unique mechanics and deep story, Majora's Mask is regarded as one of the darkest, most distinctive entries in the series.
