Harlem Globetrotters is a sports video game developed by Softie and published by GameTek, released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1991. Based on the famous U.S. exhibition basketball team the Harlem Globetrotters, it lets players pick the Globetrotters or their long-time rivals the Washington Generals for an exhibition-style basketball game. Its main highlights are fun and entertainment. As the Globetrotters, players can pull off fancy moves and silly tricks, like yanking down the referee’s pants or tripping them during free throws, boosting the game’s fun and watchability. However, it only has an exhibition mode with no league or career mode, which may hurt long-term player engagement. Overall, Harlem Globetrotters is an entertainment-focused basketball game, perfect for players who prefer lighthearted, humorous gaming experiences.
