WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game is a 1995 pro wrestling arcade title developed by Midway, later ported to home platforms like the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) by Acclaim Entertainment. Set in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) universe, it blends wrestling and fighting elements for fast-paced, over-the-top combat. Using digitized graphics, it features 8 WWF Superstars: Bret "Hitman" Hart, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Razor Ramon, Doink the Clown, Lex Luger, Bam Bam Bigelow, and Yokozuna. Gameplay leans more toward fighting games, similar to Midway’s Mortal Kombat series. Matches go multiple rounds; players wear down opponents’ energy bars to score a pin. Beyond standard wrestling moves, it adds over-the-top special attacks and combos—for example, The Undertaker uses soul-based attacks, while Doink the Clown strikes with a shock buzzer. Two single-player modes are available: Intercontinental Championship and WWF Championship. In Intercontinental mode, players beat 4 opponents in sequence, then take on 2 two-on-one matches, and finally a three-on-one bout to claim the title. The harder WWF Championship mode has 4 two-on-one matches, 2 three-on-one bouts, and a final "WrestleMania Challenge" where players defeat all 8 Superstars back-to-back. It also supports multiplayer, including one-on-one versus and co-op mode. In co-op, two players team up as a tag team to take on all 8 in-game Superstars for the tag team championship. Commentary is provided by Vince McMahon and Jerry "The King" Lawler, who sit at the ringside announce desk on the right side of the ring, adding to the authentic feel. With its unique style and over-the-top action, WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game became a classic wrestling title of its era.
