Val d'Isere Championship is a winter sports game developed by Loriciel, released in 1994 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). It has different regional titles: *Tommy Moe's Winter Extreme: Skiing & Snowboarding* in North America, and *Ski Paradise with Snowboard* in Japan. Set in the famous French ski resort Val d'Isère, players can choose skiing or snowboarding and enjoy multiple modes: freeride, training, and competition. Freeride mode plays like an arcade racer, requiring players to pass checkpoints within the time limit while dodging obstacles such as trees, rocks, and other skiers. Training mode lets players practice skills on any course to prepare for competition mode, which simulates the Winter Olympics with medal events including downhill, slalom, and giant slalom. The game uses a third-person perspective, and players can adjust control settings to switch between skis and a snowboard. Variable course conditions—dawn, dusk, night, daytime, and even blizzards—boost the challenge. A password system is also included to save progress, letting players keep exploring new courses and improving their skiing or snowboarding skills.
