Arithmetic Grade 4 - Calculation Game (Japanese: Keisan Game Sansū 4-nen) is an educational game released by Tokyo Shoseki Co., Ltd. on October 30, 1986 for the Nintendo Family Computer (Famicom). As the fourth installment in the "Calculation Game" series, it helps 4th graders reinforce math skills interactively. The game covers four core math topics: division, decimal addition/subtraction, fraction addition/subtraction, and decimal multiplication/division. Each topic has unique mini-games to boost players' math abilities. In "Division" and "Decimal Addition/Subtraction" modes let players control a character searching for correct-answer rooms in a building. They must avoid or defeat room-guarding monsters with a sword, while steering clear of undefeatable ghosts—touching one causes failure. After solving a problem, players climb to the building's top for the next question. "Fraction Addition/Subtraction" and "Decimal Multiplication/Division" modes use a racing maze format. Players drive a car through complex mazes to find number bricks with correct answers, dodging enemy vehicles. Correct answers require finding an exit brick to advance. Each mini-game has two difficulty levels and supports two-player alternating play. By blending math practice with fun gameplay, Arithmetic Grade 4 - Calculation Game offers students an engaging learning platform.
