Pokémon Stadium is a battle simulation game developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo. It launched exclusively for the Nintendo 64 in Japan on August 1, 1998. Players can transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Red/Green/Blue/Yellow to the N64 via the Transfer Pak to enjoy 3D battle scenes. The game features multiple modes, including Free Battle, Tournament, and Pokédex viewing. Free Battle lets players use transferred Pokémon or preset teams to fight other players or NPCs, with three level tiers: 1-30, 50-55, and Free Level. Tournament mode challenges players against real-life competition opponents; completing it earns points to speed up gameplay in the Game Boy feature. 40 Pokémon are available for battle, most of which were used by contestants in the 1997 Nintendo Cup.
