Pokémon Stadium is a battle simulation game developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo. It launched exclusively for the Nintendo 64 in Japan on August 1, 1998. Players can import Pokémon from core Pokémon titles via the Transfer Pak to enjoy 3D battles. Key features include Battle Mode for matches against other players or NPCs, an organization tool to manage Pokémon and items, a 3D Pokédex, and a GB Mode to play first-generation Pokémon games on the N64. Battles offer Free Battle and Tournament modes, where players compete in tiered events to earn points for unlocking in-game speed boosts. 40 Pokémon are playable, most of which were used by competitors in the 1997 Nintendo Cup.
