Pokémon Snap is a first-person simulation game co-developed by HAL Laboratory and Pax Softnica, released by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64 in 1999. Players take on the role of protagonist Todd, riding the auto-driving vehicle the New One, and take photos of wild Pokémon to complete ecological surveys and build a custom Pokémon photo dex. The game features over 60 Pokémon species. Players can use items like Fluffruit to attract Pokémon and observe their unique behaviors and expressions. Its scoring system evaluates photos based on pose, size, orientation, and position, encouraging players to capture Pokémon’s best moments. It also supports online features, allowing players to share their photos and view others’ work for more interactive fun.
