Picross NP Vol. 2 is a Super Famicom puzzle game developed by Jupiter, released exclusively in Japan on June 1, 1999 via Nintendo Power. As the second entry in the Picross NP series, it retains nonogram logic puzzle gameplay: players fill or leave grid squares blank using row/column number clues to reveal hidden images.
A key feature is Character Mode, which includes 12 puzzles based on *Yoshi's Story* (Nintendo 64) characters such as Piranha Plant, Fish, Poochy, Yoshi Egg, Jellyfish, Miss Warp, Yoshi, Shy Guy, Sea Anemone, Blargg, Boo, and Baby Bowser.
If no input is made on the title screen for a short time, an automatic tutorial plays demonstrating how to solve Picross puzzles. The completed image reveals the face of Nintendo’s mascot, Mario. This tutorial appears in all eight Picross NP series titles.
With its rich puzzle set and unique character themes, Picross NP Vol. 2 challenges players’ logic and patience, making it a favorite among puzzle game fans.
