Monster Maker: Seven Great Treasures is an FC platform RPG released by Japan's SOFEL on December 20, 1991. Based on the GB card game of the same name, it integrates card mechanics into characters, items, mazes and battles. Players can capture monsters as allies and summon them in combat. With no EXP system, characters grow via key events. Set in the sword-and-magic world of Ulfler, on the legendary volcanic island Brugante, where Mount Vanbedo rises and an evil temple lies deep in its dark underground. Evil forces seek seven treasures guarded by eight races, and players must stop their plot. Only one official FC title exists, split into two ROMs sold as Parts 1 & 2. A merged version fixes crashes and bugs for the full original experience.
