Mighty Bomb Jack is a 1986 platform action game developed and published by Tecmo. First released on the Nintendo Famicom, it was later ported to Amiga, Atari ST, and Commodore 64. Players control Jack through 16 pyramid levels to defeat the demon Belzebut and rescue the Royal Family of Pamela. Each level has an action zone with hidden power-ups (money bags, power coins, power drinks) and a royal palace room. Power coins grant color-changing abilities, while power drinks extend the timer. The game’s challenge comes from random enemy movement patterns, plus hidden passages and items that reward exploration. It also features a "greed" penalty: collecting too many power coins or pushing the timer over 99 seconds sends Jack to a punishment room where he must complete a set number of jumps to proceed. Mighty Bomb Jack sold over 1.5 million copies in Japan, and was re-released on the Wii Virtual Console (2007), Nintendo 3DS (2012), Wii U (2014), and Nintendo Switch Online (2018).
