Metal Jack is an SFC action-adventure game adapted from the robot anime produced by Japan's SUNRISE. Set in the high-tech "Tokyo City", it follows young investigator Ken Kanzaki from the Metropolitan Police Department's First Investigation Division, who is seriously injured in a robot attack during a protection mission. Later, he, along with racer Ryo Aguri and wrestler Go Gota, is transformed into robot investigators "Armored Police METAL JACK", fighting against the mysterious organization "Eid" and its robot army. Players control these three characters, using "JACK SUIT" and "JACK ARMOR" equipment, to engage in fierce battles and maintain the city's peace and security.
