International Cricket is a sports game developed by Beam Software and released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1992 under its Laser Beam label. It launched exclusively in Australia, never hitting North American, Japanese, or European markets. The game uses two-button controls: one for batting, the other for big hits. It features all major Test cricket national teams, but lacks official licensing—player names are puns or variations of real 1990s cricketers, like A. Boulder for Allan Border, M. Sailor for Mark Taylor, and D. Boost for David Boon. Its AI is fairly simple, letting players easily hold computer opponents under 20 runs. Hidden extras include a music test mode with 24 tracks and 4 sound effects, plus a secret "Beam Team" unlockable via specific actions. A sequel, Super International Cricket, came out for the Super NES in 1994.
