Ghoul Patrol is a 1994 action-adventure game developed by LucasArts for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) and published by JVC Musical Industries. As the sequel to the 1993 title *Zombies Ate My Neighbors*, it retains the original’s style and gameplay.
The story follows protagonists Zeke and Julie, who visit a "Ghosts and Ghouls" exhibit at the city library. They accidentally open an ancient chest, unleashing an old spirit book. Reading it summons a terrifying ghost, triggering a monster invasion across the city. Players control Zeke and Julie across five distinct worlds, defeating monsters, rescuing trapped civilians, and sealing the ghost back into the book.
Players use a variety of weapons—including crossbows, ping-pong ball machine guns, and the Martian "Heatseeker" gun—to fight enemies like trash can ghouls and ninja spirits. They also must rescue trapped librarians and pirates while dodging obstacles such as flying books and man-eating plants.
Ghoul Patrol launched in North America in November 1994, followed by releases in Europe and Japan. It was re-released on the Wii Virtual Console in 2010. In 2021, Disney Interactive and Lucasfilm Games partnered with DotEmu to reissue the game alongside its predecessor *Zombies Ate My Neighbors* for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows.
The game supports single-player and local two-player co-op, letting friends experience this classic 16-bit title together. The new version adds features like save functionality, a museum mode, and an achievement system for a richer gameplay experience.
