Ganbare Goemon 2: Kiteretsu Shogun Magginesu is an action-adventure game developed and published by Konami in 1993 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. As the second Super Nintendo entry in the Ganbare Goemon series, it retains the humorous tone of its predecessor while introducing new characters and gameplay mechanics.
The story centers on Magginesu, a Western-style general who leads an army of rabbits to invade Japan and force Westernization on the country. Protagonist Goemon and his partner Ebisumaru learn of the plot while on vacation, and set out to stop Magginesu alongside their new ally, the mechanical ninja Sasuke.
Gameplay features a world map design similar to Super Mario World, with levels including standard stages, towns, castles, and giant robot battles. Players can control Goemon, Ebisumaru, or Sasuke, each with unique abilities and weapons. The game also introduces the giant robot "Impact Goemon," used in first-person battles in certain stages to add variety and fun.
Well-received by players after its Japanese release, the game was ported to the Game Boy Advance alongside its predecessor in 2005. It has also been re-released on the Virtual Console for Wii, Wii U, and 3DS, letting a new generation of players experience this classic title.
