GameBooster 64 is a Nintendo 64 peripheral released by Datel in 1998, designed to let players run Game Boy games on N64 consoles. Insert a Game Boy cartridge into it and connect to N64 to play. It has several limitations: no sound emulation, only looping 11kHz audio; incompatibility with some games using special mappers; an N64 cartridge must be plugged into its back to bypass region lock. While it offers palette changes and Super Game Boy border support, the overall experience is hampered by these flaws. Overall, GameBooster 64 delivers basic functionality but has many shortcomings and never gained widespread popularity.
