Legendary Wings is a 1986 arcade shooter by Capcom, ported to the NES in 1988. Set in a far future, it follows Dark, an alien supercomputer that aided human civilization for ages before betraying humanity. To save mankind, Ares grants two young warriors "Wings of Love and Courage" to fight Dark and its army. The game has 5 levels, each with two parts: a vertical-scrolling aerial shooter where players fly, shoot air enemies and bomb ground targets, followed by a horizontal-scrolling ground section where players advance, defeat foes and face the level boss. It supports single-player or co-op play, with power-ups that boost weapon firepower and character abilities. The NES version adjusts the arcade original with tweaks to level design and the weapon upgrade system.
