Fighter's History is a 2D fighting game released by Data East in 1993. It first launched on arcades, then was ported to the SNES console in 1994. It uses a six-button control setup with three levels of punch and kick, similar to Street Fighter II's controls. Players can choose from 9 unique characters, each with distinct moves and skills. Its main feature is the "weak point system": repeatedly hitting an opponent's specific weak spot stuns them temporarily, creating attack openings. The game's similarity to Street Fighter II led Capcom to sue Data East, but the court ruled in Data East's favor, stating similar elements were scènes à faire and not copyright-protected.
