Faceball 2000 is a first-person shooter developed by Xanth Software F/X and published by Bullet-Proof Software. It launched for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in North America in September 1992. Players control H.A.P.P.Y.F.A.C.E. (short for Holographically Assisted Physical Pattern Yielded For Active Computerized Embarkation), a smiley-faced character that battles other smiley enemies in maze-like arenas. The game features simple 3D graphics, with enemies depicted as basic geometric shapes with smiley faces. It offers two core modes: the single-player Cyberzone, where players clear a set number of enemies across 70 mazes to find the exit, and the multiplayer Arena, a two-player split-screen mode focused on defeating all foes. Notably, it is considered one of the earliest first-person shooters to include an automatic health regeneration mechanic.
