Crayon Shin-chan 2: The Great Demon King's Counterattack is an action platformer developed by Sun L and published by Bandai, released in Japan on May 27, 1994 for the Super Famicom. Based on the hit anime Crayon Shin-chan, it lets players control mischievous kindergartener Shinnosuke Nohara on a quest to save Action Kamen.
The story follows the 1993 film Crayon Shin-chan: Action Kamen vs. Leotard Devil, as the evil Haiguremaou tries to conquer the world again. He kidnaps Shinnosuke's favorite hero Action Kamen and plots to rule both their worlds. To stop him, players guide Shinnosuke through multiple levels, defeat brainwashed friends and family, and rescue Action Kamen.
The game has 8 levels that can be played in any order. Each level's boss is a familiar character brainwashed by the demon king, like Kazama and Masao. Shinnosuke fights using jump stomps, item attacks, and the Action Beam. The ending changes based on the chosen difficulty level.
As a side-scrolling 2D platformer, Crayon Shin-chan 2: The Great Demon King's Counterattack keeps the original anime's unique humor, delivering a fun and lighthearted gaming experience.
