Joe & Mac 2: Lost in the Tropics (Japanese: Tatakae Genshijin 3: Shuyaku wa Yappari Joe & Mac) is a 1994 action platformer developed and published by Data East for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). As the third entry in the Joe & Mac series, it retains the franchise’s signature humor and engaging gameplay.
Players control green-haired Joe or blue-haired Mac, two caveman heroes. The story follows Gork, a rival caveman, who steals the chief’s crown from Kali Village. Players must collect seven Rainbow Stones to reclaim the crown.
This side-scrolling adventure takes players through diverse environments like jungles, snow-capped mountains, and volcanoes, where they battle dinosaurs, rival cavemen, and other foes. Each level ends with a powerful boss, including a stegosaurus, pterodactyl, and triceratops.
New to the series, players collect stone coins to buy health-restoring food or decorate their hut at the village shop. A password system lets players save their progress.
The game supports single-player and co-op modes, so you can adventure alone or team up with a friend to tackle every level and enemy.
Overall, Joe & Mac 2: Lost in the Tropics delivers a memorable experience with its rich content, varied level design, and playful tone.
