Pictionary: The Game of Video Quick Draw is an NES game developed by Software Creations and published by LJN in 1990, adapted from the classic party game of the same name. It supports single-player and multiplayer modes for up to 4 teams with any number of players per team.
In Regular Game mode, players can compete against the computer or team up with others. Players complete mini-games to reveal parts of a hidden image, then guess the full image. Correct guesses let players roll a virtual die to move on the game board; the first to reach the finish wins.
There are 4 mini-games:
- **Attack of the Paint Zombies**: Shoot downward at aliens; more hits reveal more of the image.
- **The Warehouse Shuffle**: Move boxes from the left to the right of the warehouse while avoiding enemies; the number of boxes moved determines revealed image parts.
- **Leapin' Energy Capsules!**: Play as an astronaut collecting blue orbs and avoiding enemies; each orb reveals a piece of the image.
- **Four Alarm Rescue**: Control a firefighter on the ground using a net to catch people jumping from buildings; each rescue reveals a piece of the image.
In Alternative Game mode, a designated drawer draws based on words given by the computer, and other players guess. Correct guesses let the team roll the die to advance.
A drawing practice mode is also available, letting players hone their drawing skills with no time limit.
Pictionary is known for its upbeat soundtrack, with its 6 well-crafted tracks earning widespread praise.
