Mickey's Safari in Letterland is an educational side-scrolling NES game developed by Beam Software and published by Hi Tech Expressions in March 1993, designed to teach preschoolers letter recognition and spelling.
Players control Mickey Mouse across six regions—Yukon, swamp, forest, jungle, pyramid, and Caribbean—to recover lost letter stones and return them to the museum. In each level, Mickey collects three letter-bearing diamonds to spell a word, which is then pronounced with digitized speech and paired with an illustration.
Made for young players, enemies like snakes, porcupines, and alligators do not damage Mickey—they only knock him back. The game also offers three difficulty levels: easy, medium, and hard, to suit different skill levels.
With lively animated worlds and interactive learning, Mickey's Safari in Letterland delivers a fun, educational gaming experience for kids.
