Pac-Man is a classic arcade game developed by Namco, first released in Japan on May 22, 1980. Designed by Toru Iwatani and inspired by a pizza with a slice missing, players control Pac-Man to eat all dots in a maze while dodging four ghosts: Blinky (red), Pinky (pink), Inky (cyan), and Clyde (orange). Power pellets at the maze’s four corners let Pac-Man briefly fight back against the ghosts. In 1988, Tengen launched the NES version of Pac-Man in North America, which faithfully recreates the original arcade gameplay and visuals.
