Pac-Man is a classic arcade game developed by Namco in 1980, and was ported to the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) by Tengen in 1988. In the game, players control Pac-Man to eat all dots in a maze while dodging four ghosts: Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde. Power pellets sit at the maze’s four corners; eating one lets Pac-Man turn the tables and devour ghosts briefly for extra points. As levels progress, ghosts get faster and smarter, ramping up the challenge. Tengen’s Pac-Man port is renowned for its faithfulness to the original arcade version, and while unlicensed by Nintendo, it had official Namco approval.
