MLBPA Baseball is a baseball video game developed by High Score Productions and published by Electronic Arts. Released in 1994 for platforms including the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), Sega Genesis, and Game Gear, it holds official licensing from the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA), featuring real 1993 season players and stats. Lacking MLB licensing, it cannot use official team names, instead representing teams by city with matching team colors, and using terms like "A League", "N League", and "the Series". Game modes include single game, full season, playoffs, and the World Series. Though the full season mode follows the 1994 schedule, it retains the old two-division format per league. Standout features include bold arcade-style graphics, stadiums with natural or artificial turf based on the home team, day/night game options, and animated scoreboards for plays like double plays, triple plays, home runs, grand slams, pitching changes, pinch hitters, and strikeouts. The SNES version was the first baseball game to include the Atlanta Braves' iconic "Tomahawk Chop" theme song. Its cover features Brent Gates of the Oakland Athletics and Billy Hatcher of the Boston Red Sox. The Japanese version, titled *Fighting Baseball*, lacks MLBPA licensing and uses modified player names and stats.
