Maten Densetsu: Senritsu no Ooparts is a first-person RPG adventure developed by Thinking Rabbit and published by Takara on October 27, 1995, for the Super Famicom. Set on the Japanese archipelago floating high in the sky after an unknown disaster, demons invade using mysterious artifacts called "Ooparts" (out-of-place artifacts), and surviving humans struggle to survive in a few strongholds. Players take on the role of a survivor, choosing from five characters each with different stat distributions. The game blends text-rich story exploration and turn-based combat: players explore the ruins of Tokyo, interact with other survivors, and battle demons they encounter. Unlike traditional RPGs, players earn "Energy" by defeating enemies and completing quests to manually boost their chosen stats, instead of automatically leveling up via experience points.
