Mobile Suit Z Gundam: Hot Scramble is a 1986 Japanese rail shooter by Bandai, adapted from the *Mobile Suit Z Gundam* anime. As the first Gundam home console game and one of the franchise’s earliest video games, it was developed by Game Studio with designer Masashi Endo, programmers Hiroshi Shimaoka and Koichi Yamamoto, and music by Neil Sedaka. Two Famicom versions released: the original and a limited special edition (sometimes called the Final Version), with only 1,000 copies made—making it one of the rarest games ever. Gameplay blends first-person shooter stages and side-scrolling maze levels; players pilot a mobile suit to fight enemies on Earth and in space, then destroy the enemy base’s reactor. It sold over 400,000 copies, ranked by *Famitsu* as one of Japan’s top-selling shooters from 1986 to 1992.
