Mobile Suit Gundam CROSS DIMENSION 0079 is a tactical simulation RPG released by Bandai on February 10, 1995 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). The game has two parts: the first 14 stages adapt the original Mobile Suit Gundam anime plot, while the last 6 feature the original side story "Prayer for the Fallen".
In the original story, players join the Federation transport unit "Albatross" on a mission to deliver the new MS RX-78XX Gundam Pixie to the White Base. Along the way, they are attacked by the Zeon guerrilla squad "Wolf Gar", sparking fierce battles over the new mobile suit.
Key features include the Minovsky particle visibility system that stays true to the Gundam universe, plus a combat system where specific inputs trigger different moves.
The game boasts original mecha designs by Kunio Okawara, original character designs by Toshihiro Kawamoto, original story and production direction by Haruki Kamiya, and music by Kenichi Kamio.
Note that the first half’s anime adaptation has cuts that may impact the gameplay experience.
