Kick Master is a side-scrolling action game developed by Japan’s KID and published by Taito for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1992. Blending RPG elements, it follows young martial artist Thonolan on a quest to rescue Princess Silphee, kidnapped by the evil witch Belzed.
The game features 8 levels, including Witch Forest, Cave of No Return, fortress, and swamp, each with unique enemies and obstacles. Players earn XP by defeating foes to level up and unlock new kicks like slide kick and spinning kick, with 10 kick techniques total. There are also 12 magical artifacts scattered across levels, offering attack, support, and healing effects to boost strategy and replayability.
Renowned for its stunning graphics, smooth action, and excellent music, Kick Master is hailed as a late-era NES masterpiece. Though never released in Japan, its unique gameplay and rich content have left a lasting impression on players.
