Mendel Palace (Japanese: Quinty) is a puzzle-action game developed by Game Freak and published by Namco. It first launched for the Famicom in Japan on June 27, 1989, and came to North America in 1990. The story follows Carton, who must rescue his kidnapped girlfriend Jenny from the dream world created by his sister Quinty. Players control Carton in rooms with flip tiles, flipping floors to slam enemies into walls or obstacles to clear all foes and advance. With 20 areas and 200 levels, each zone has unique enemies and challenges that test strategy and reflexes. Notably, Mendel Palace is Game Freak’s debut title—the studio later became famous for creating the Pokémon series.
