Jigsaw Party (also called Pieces) is a casual puzzle game released for the SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) in 1994. Developed by Prism Kikaku (later known as Nippon Ichi Software), it was published by Hori Electric in Japan and Atlus in North America. In the game, players reassemble scattered jigsaw pieces to restore a complete image. Each level briefly shows the full picture first, then breaks it into multiple pieces. Players pick suitable pieces from a limited random draw to place in the correct spots. Since many blank spaces have similar shapes, piece shape alone is not enough to judge placement, which adds a test of memory and observation skills. It supports single-player mode, as well as battles against the computer or other players. In battle/race mode (up to 2 players, with some versions allowing turn-based multiplayer), players compete to finish the puzzle fastest. Power-ups may trigger during matches — they can help the user or hinder opponents, like hinting at piece placement or freezing an opponent’s progress, making battles more fun and competitive. Overall, this is a puzzle-focused puzzle game that balances relaxation and competition. With a brisk pace, it’s perfect for players who enjoy using their brains and interactive puzzle races with friends.
