Hoshi o Miru Hito (English: *Stargazer*) is a 1987 Japanese cyberpunk RPG developed by Another and published by HOT-B. Set in a future ruled by the supercomputer Crew III, which drives humanity to extinction via brainwashing, only ESP-powered humans can resist. Players control four ESP users—Minami, Shibata, Misa, and Aine—on a journey to Ark City and outer space to defeat Crew III.
Famous for its brutal difficulty and opaque design: the game drops players on a map with zero guidance, hides the first town’s entrance, features overpowered early enemies, slow movement, and no escape command, making it highly challenging.
While its sci-fi story and setting have fans, its harsh, unforgiving design earned it the Japanese nickname "legendary bad game" (densetsu no kusogē).
In 2020, City Connection ported it to Nintendo Switch (released July 30), adding modern quality-of-life features like save/load, rewind, and double movement speed to improve the original experience.
