Musashi's Adventure is a classic RPG developed by Quest Corporation and published by Sigma Enterprises for the Family Computer, released in Japan on December 22, 1990. Set in medieval Japan, players take on the role of Musashi, a skilled young swordsman and son of the legendary Miyamoto Musashi. When his father’s arch-nemesis, the evil sorcerer Kojiro, returns with a demon army to lay waste to the land, Musashi sets out on a quest to defeat him and protect his home. Gameplay features first-person turn-based battles, world map exploration, town visits, weapon and armor shopping, and dungeon crawling, with mechanics similar to the Dragon Quest series but steeped in feudal Japanese aesthetics. A unique quirk: Musashi carries a plush doll on his back that occasionally attacks enemies in combat for extra support. The game also includes fun random events and characters that add charm and depth. Though initially exclusive to Japan, fan-made English translation patches now let players worldwide enjoy this retro RPG gem.
