Higemaru Makaijima: Nanatsu no Shima Daibouken is a 1987 action-adventure game developed and published by Capcom for the Famicom and MSX. A sequel to 1984’s arcade title Pirate Ship Higemaru, it follows Momotaru sailing seven islands to hunt a legendary treasure. Players attack pirate ships to defeat captains and earn dock keys—ship gameplay adapts the original Higemaru formula with small tweaks. On islands, exploration, item collection, boss fights, and treasure hunting mirror *The Legend of Zelda*’s dungeon style, drawing frequent comparisons. Released only in Japan, its planned North American version *Makai Island* was ultimately canceled.
