Fire Prince: Yamato Takeru is a Super Famicom (SNES) RPG developed by Multimedia Intelligence Transfer and released by Toho on September 29, 1995. It follows ancient Japanese hero Prince Ousu’s 1st-century adventures, reimagining his legend based on Toho’s 1994 monster film Orochi: The Eight-Headed Dragon. After mistakenly killing his brother, the emperor (his father) sends him to subdue a rebellion in Kumaso to atone and control his destructive power.
Along his journey, Yamato Takeru faces Kumaso barbarians, Yamata no Orochi, Kumaso god Kumasogami, and rival deity Tsukuyomi, aided by companions Susano-o and Ototachibana. The game uses a classic top-down perspective, letting players build parties, interact with NPCs, and fight turn-based battles in separate views with detailed monster sprites.
With deep Japanese mythological roots and rich RPG elements, Fire Prince: Yamato Takeru delivers an immersive adventure experience.
